Health and Safety

We take the health and safety of your children very seriously.

Health and Safety
We follow guidance from the CDC, the Newtown Health Department, and the CT Office of Early Childhood.

  • Frequent hand washing (children and staff), sanitizing and disinfecting of toys, surfaces, and everywhere.

  • We spend as much time outside as possible, weather permitting.

  • We are developing an outdoor curriculum.

  • Children’s and staff shoes are removed in the front entryway, and slippers/crocs are worn in the building.

  • All families and staff sign a form acknowledging that they understand and agree to follow our health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Each teacher is required to complete a thorough background check before they are hired.

  • All staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid.

  • A senior staff member is always on duty during the center’s hours of operation.

  • A registered nurse reports to the center on a weekly basis and remains on call for emergency situations.

  • A pediatrician, pediatric dentist, social service worker, and educational consultant are also available as needed.
