Health and Safety
We take the health and safety of your children very seriously.
COVID-19 Health and Safety
We follow guidance from the CDC, the Newtown Health Department, and the CT Office of Early Childhood.
-
Child drop-off and pick-up are outside and include a daily health screening and temperature checks.
-
All adults and children age 3 years and over wear masks inside the building.
-
Consistent staff remain in each classroom, and groups are kept separate (age groups do not combine). Larger group sizes have decreased to allow for social distancing.
-
Increased hand washing (children and staff), sanitizing and disinfecting of toys, surfaces, and everywhere.
-
We spend as much time outside as possible, weather permitting.
-
We are developing an outdoor curriculum.
-
Children’s and staff shoes are removed in the front entryway, and slippers/crocs are worn in the building.
-
All families and staff signed a disclosure agreeing to follow our policies and procedures to protect everyone’s health and safety both in and out of the center.
-
Teachers provide individual sensory bins, playdough bags, and more for each child to use.
Security
-
Each teacher is required to complete a thorough background check before they are hired.
-
All staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
-
A senior staff member is always on duty during the center’s hours of operation.
-
A registered nurse reports to the center on a weekly basis and remains on call for emergency situations.
-
A pediatrician, pediatric dentist, social service worker, and educational consultant are also available as needed.
